Hoarding doesn’t just make life uncomfortable, but dangerous, as Noel Reiner learned for himself. The 85-year-old pensioner has been hoarding through all his life, but his habits increased after his divorce to the point he had managed to fill his whole house from top to bottom with papers and debris. This seems to be nigh impossible considering that Reiner owns a four-bedroom house with a three-car garage.
The incident occurred earlier this month, when Reiner tripped over a large pile of his clutter and became trapped underneath the chaos for 30 hours. His daughter was not able to pry him free, which necessitated the arrival of the police and fire fighters, who managed a quick extraction. Now the house is in the process of a very thorough clearance by a team of professional cleaners while Mister Reiner receives proper medical care at the Colchester General Hospital.
